These Terms explain how you may use the "Is this GF?" mobile app, website, and our supporting resources, including the Gluten Blacklist dataset. By accessing or using any part of the service you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. What "Is this GF?" Provides

"Is this GF?" is a toolkit that helps celiacs and gluten-intolerant people interpret food packaging. We are not doctors, dietitians, or medical researchers. Instead, we have crowdsourced and researched a list of problematic ingredients - our "Gluten Blacklist" - and built an on-device algorithm that compares label text against that dataset to flag potential sources of gluten. The results are informational only and cannot replace professional medical or dietary advice. Always consult a qualified health professional before making decisions about your diet.

2. Apple Standard Terms of Use

If you download the "Is this GF?" App from the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard Terms of Use apply. If these Terms ever conflict with Apple's Standard Terms of Use, Apple's terms take precedence and control for the App Store version of the app.

3. License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the "Is this GF?" app and access our website for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not sublicense, rent, lease, or transfer the app or website to any third party.

License Restrictions

• Do not modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except where permitted by law.
• Do not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the app, website, or Gluten Blacklist.
• Do not use the app for commercial purposes or public display without our written consent.
• Do not remove or alter proprietary notices or labels contained in the service.
• Do not access or use the service in a way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
• Do not use automated or unauthorized methods to interfere with the service.

4. Eligibility

The app is intended for individuals who are capable of making informed food choices - typically anyone old enough to shop for groceries. By using the service you confirm that you can form a binding agreement with us and that you will comply with these Terms.

5. Account Registration

No dedicated "Is this GF?" account is required to use the app or website. Certain features of the iOS app may prompt you to sign in with Apple to sync preferences securely through iCloud.

6. Sync and Data Sharing

The app performs its gluten-detection analysis entirely on your device. Scan history and preferences are stored privately in your personal iCloud account. We do not operate centralized "Is this GF?" servers that store your label scans or other personally identifying data. The only information we receive is the anonymized account identifier provided by Apple for beta testing and support purposes.

7. Privacy

Your privacy matters. We designed the service so we do not collect, sell, or share your personal data. Because we do not host your scans, any data stored in iCloud is governed by Apple's policies.

8. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect product changes or legal requirements. When we do, we will post the revised Terms within the app and on this website. Your continued use of "Is this GF?" after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be brought exclusively in the courts located in Australia.
